Terrence W. Scudieri, Jr., Of Counsel

Terrence W. Scudieri, Jr. (“Terry”) (he/him/his) is Of Counsel to Hecht Partners LLP, and he focuses his practice on international human rights litigation and arbitration, as well as other high-stakes transnational commercial and employment disputes.  In 2022 and 2023, he was recognized by his peers and named a “Rising Star” by SuperLawyers®.

Prior to joining Hecht Partners LLP. Mr. Scudieri honed his skills at an internationally-renowned securities litigation boutique in New York, where his complex practice centered on federal securities fraud litigation.  With his out-of-the-box thinking and creative litigation style, Mr. Scudieri was instrumental in recovering tens of millions of dollars on behalf of defrauded investor classes, including public pension and retirement plan systems, from various publicly traded companies, including Fortune 500 companies, just within his first few years of practice.

Mr. Scudieri began his legal career as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Timothy C. Stanceu, then-Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of International Trade, an Article III court with special nationwide jurisdiction hearing cases arising under the customs and international trade laws, including controversies concerning tariffs, import duties, trade agreements, and other issues incidental to certain international trade transactions.

While at Georgetown Law, Mr. Scudieri centered his coursework on international human rights law and the law of armed conflict, receiving the annual CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his novel research and coursework in Advanced Issues in International Human Rights, a course typically reserved for LL.M. students.  Mr. Scudieri holds a Certificate in Refugees & Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.  At commencement, among a class of more than 600 graduates, Mr. Scudieri was awarded the Joyce Chiang Memorial Award in recognition of his lifelong commitment to social justice.  Mr. Scudieri also was recognized as a Dean’s Pro Bono Honoree with Exceptional Distinction.

Prior to law school, Mr. Scudieri practiced clinical social work and helped to spearhead and establish the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ first-ever on-campus independent housing program for chronically homeless veterans in Chicago.  Mr. Scudieri still holds his license in clinical social work in the State of Illinois.

Mr. Scudieri is an attorney admitted to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.  Mr. Scudieri is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Mr. Scudieri speaks English, Spanish, and Italian, and loves to travel.
